Normally, the lining of the stomach and intestines has defences against acid produced by the stomach. When something interferes with those defences the acid may cause damage. A peptic ulcer is a product of this damage; it is an open and inflamed sore.

What is this article about?

A peptic ulcer occurs in the lining of the stomach or on the upper section of the small intestine (duodenum). They are defined as: gastric ulcers: ulcers that occur on the inside of the stomach; and duodenal ulcers: ulcers that occur on the inside of the small intestine.

yes,a good read.Owing to stress or a bacteria we can develop an ulcer from the upper intestine to the inside of our stomach.Same can be diagnosed with a endoscopy and treated with anti biotics.,diets another consideration
