Keith Bhebhe

Keith has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing and a Master’s degree in Addiction Studies, and over 10 years frontline experience in general hospitals, prisons and forensic mental health in public and private settings in both the UK and Australia. Prior to his appointment to Penington Institute in 2017 Keith was the Unit Manager at Thomas Embling Forensic Mental Health Hospital in a Rehabilitation Unit where he managed a team of over twenty staff and twenty patients. Keith’s recent professional activities include leading a team in a number of Projects such as: Self-Harm and Suicide Prevention education program in Corrections Victoria, planning, delivery and evaluation of Methamphetamine ‘ICE’ education programs for Forensicare frontline staff, Forensicare Hepatitis C treatment project, Evaluation of Risk Assessment Tools (START), Introduction of Trauma Informed Care in Acute Forensic services, working with stakeholders to address issues of management of Violence and Aggression in secure services, educating staff in strategies that promote resilience in health settings, self-directed healthcare education projects, assisting staff in building understanding of working patients affected by ice and addressing some of the misguided myths associated with the drug.
