About the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is the national regulator of aged care services in Australia. Frequently asked questions

Alis modules are high-quality online learning resources developed by the Commission. They are free for registered providers of aged care and services and their associated providers. They are designed to help aged care providers and their staff understand and meet their obligations. They support providers and their workers to deliver safe, quality aged care and services. These modules support capability uplift and help providers prepare for aged care reform.

This means that approved aged care providers and associated providers can now manage, track, assign and report against the full suite of Alis learning modules, just as they would with resources in the Ausmed Library™. This helps streamline your learning and compliance requirements, allowing you to manage all your aged care training in one central location.

Yes, a key benefit of this integration is the ability to manage and track your staff's learning progress and completion of Alis modules directly within the Ausmed LMS, simplifying your reporting and compliance efforts.

Access is available to all registered aged care providers and associated providers. The Commission manages approvals in accordance with its eligibility requirements.

Alis Library is included for all Ausmed Learn™ customers at no extra charge.

No. Once the provider has been approved to access the modules, all staff members from that organisation will be permitted access.

Existing Ausmed Learn™ customers can find the registration form by logging into their manager portal, navigating to Learn in the top menu, then click Libraries → Alis (ACQSC). Simply complete and sign the registration form that appears and Ausmed will send your request to the Commission for review and access approval.

If your organisation’s request to access the Alis Library is denied by the Commission, it may mean your organisation does not meet the eligibility criteria set by the Commission (e.g. not a registered aged care provider).

Here’s what you can do:

  • Review the Commission’s eligibility criteria on their website.
  • Contact your Ausmed Customer Success Manager: They can clarify the reason for denial (if provided) and help you understand your options.

Note: Ausmed is required to follow the Commission’s approval process and cannot override its decision.

ALIS programs and courses cover a wide range of aged care topics, including but not limited to:

  • The Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
  • The Code of Conduct for Aged Care
  • The Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)
  • Clinical Governance
  • Provider Governance
  • Food, Nutrition, and Dining
  • Preparing for the new Aged Care Act
