Jared Cooney Horvath (PhD, MEd) is an expert in the field of educational neuroscience, with a focus on translating neuroscientific principles to enhance teaching and learning practices within the classroom. Jared has conducted research and lectured at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, the University of Melbourne, and over 30 schools around Australia. Jared has published three books, over 30 research articles, and his work has been featured in numerous popular publications, including The Economist, WIRED, The New Yorker, New Scientist, and ABC’s Catalyst. Jared is a lecturer at the University of Melbourne, researcher at St. Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, and currently serves as director of the Science of Learning Group: a team dedicated to bringing the latest in brain and behavioural researcher to teachers, students, and parents alike (

This lecture was more geared towards neurophysiology rather than pertaining to mainly how clients with dementia cope with memory loss.

A very engaging presenter who made this topic interesting and enjoyable.Games and quizzes used were very effective in assisting in leaning. Would love for this lecture to have continued longer as it was educational and engaging .

The resource was extremely interesting in how our memory is limited and stubborn and that the size of our memory is limited but the limit can be trumped by knowledge. Our working memory is based on interpretation, nothing in our memory gets in clean.
